From Yaya was born from a love of creativity, craft, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.

I’m Yaya, a Brighton based artist deeply drawn to the creative process and to the ordinary moments that often shape how we feel.

A breeze through the window, the soft transition from day to evening, the pause of lighting a candle before you begin or unwind, these small moments may seem simple, but they can hold real power. Every candle I create is inspired by small moments of daily life and the emotions attached to them.

To bring my world of imagination into reality, I chose candles as my medium. Candle-making allows me to combine so many things I love: artisanal crafts, creative expression, scent, colour, atmosphere, and intentional living. 

As I built this brand, I noticed three distinct worlds in candles: wellness, perfumery, and decorative design. Each offers something valuable, but often separately — wellness candles are natural but visually minimal, perfumery candles smell luxurious but often rely on synthetic fragrance, and decorative candles are beautiful but not always made with natural ingredients. From Yaya brings these elements together through candles made with pure essential oils and thoughtful design, combining natural fragrance, visual storytelling, and everyday beauty in one. They are made for people who want candles that feel good, look beautiful, and are crafted with care.
